As the only acute care hospital in Cherokee County, we are keeping pace with our growing community.  Upstate Carolina MC is licensed for 125 beds with 400 employees.  Last year we had almost 60,000 patient visits.  We earned a 5-star rating for financial stability, and a nearly perfect score by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.  As an affiliate of Health Management Associates (NYSE: HMA), a 60+ hospital company with a strong balance sheet whose principal focus is on the community hospital setting, we are truly a "hometown hospital."

Our growing medical staff is comprised of approximately 100 physicians representing more than 20 specialties, and with a payroll of close to $14 million, Upstate MC is a high–profile employer and corporate citizen.  Our staff is well-known and admired in the community.
